The provincial government says it is investing $18.3 million for eight Ottawa-area school infrastructure projects and additions.

The work on the west-side Ottawa English public schools follows the closure of several schools, and will allow the remaining schools to absorb students that are being displaced.

Education minister Mitzie Hunter announced the projects, including:

  • In Ottawa, an addition to Agincourt Road Public School and renovations to Woodroffe Avenue Public School and Pinecrest Public School;
  • in Nepean, additions to Sir Robert Borden High School and Merivale High School, and renovations to Bell High School and Briargreen Public School; and
  • in Gloucester, renovations to Gloucester High School.
