DataBid.com, which provides “timely accurate project information to commercial construction companies in the Greater Toronto Area” has expanded its service to cover Ottawa and eastern Ontario.

“DataBid currently helps general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers locate time-sensitive project and contact information to aid bidding and negotiating public and private sector work,” the company says in a news release.

“We have talked to hundreds of companies in the Ontario market that use multiple resources to find and locate work,” says DataBid founder and CEO Jim Lamelza. “We hear that the number of man-hours required to find, evaluate, bid, and track opportunities while keeping up with day to day work is nearly impossible.

“We also find many people in one of two extreme categories: Companies get barraged by constant, unnecessary,overlapping emails and distractions from multiple resources; or many pay for a service only to hear nothing at all and miss important dates or key information altogether,” Lamelza said. “DataBid prevents this hassle and consolidates these efforts by reducing the time required to stay on top what is going on. DataBid provides clients one convenient point of contact for everything they need. We are very excited to help companies use our information to grow their business.”

DataBid’s eastern Ontario coverage area includes the counties of Frontenac, Halliburton, Hastings, Kathiawar Lakes, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Lennox and Eddington, Muskox, National Capital Region, Northumberland, Peterborough, Prescott and Russell, Prince Edward, Renfrew, Storefront Dundas and Glengarry.

As well, in southern Ontario, the company serves the counties of Brant, Bruce, Chatham-Kent, Dufferin, Durham, Elgin, Essex, Grey, Maldivian, Halton, Hamilton, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, Niagara, Norfolk, Oxford, Region of Peel, Perth, Simone, Toronto, Waterloo, Wellington and York.

DataBid says its service features include:

  • thousands of hard-to-find private opportunities;
  • complete bidders lists;
  • keyword searchable plans and specs;
  • exact project matching and alerts;
  • early access to in-design opportunities;
  • advanced project searching;
