PCL Constructors Inc. has broken ground to construct a new $135 million Cardiac Life Support Services Redevelopment Project at the Ottawa Heart Institute.
The project will add for floors with state-of-the-art clinical and impatient services, along with 146,000 sq. ft. of space for life support services.
“As the PCL Ottawa district enters into its 25th year in the nation’s capital, we are very excited and proud to be working with the Ottawa Heart Institute, Infrastructure Ontario, and The Ottawa Hospital recognizing the valuable contribution this project will make not only to the community but also to employment in the capital,” said Kevin Skinner, PCL Ottawa’s vice-president and district manager. “The vast majority of labour will be coming from the Ottawa region.”
“At the peak of construction, over 200 workers are expected to be on-site to achieve our schedule commitments and bring this project to life,” he said.
