Morley Hoppner has donated $100,000 to the Hopes Rising Campaign for mental health at the Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH).
“We have all grown up within a five km radius of the QCH, and we believe in developing communities, not just land,” said partner Ken Hoppner.
“We are grateful that we are personally involved in the community and dynamic enough to make a positive impact on the livability of our city,” Hoppner said in statement. “Our hope is to help build a level of care that is more consistent with modern, therapeutic mental health care for the communities we build and live in.”
The hospital says funds raised will support an extensive renovation of the aging mental health unit, provide enhanced emergency programs and services for people in a mental health crisis and help strengthen connections to community mental health support services. The mental health unit has not had any renovations or enhancements since it opened in 2016.
“It has been inspiring to work with Morley Hopner over the past several months on our Hopes Rising campaign,” said Melanie Adams, president and CEO of the QCH Foundation. “This is a firm who is sincerely invested in our community on so many levels. This gift demonstrates exceptional leadership and compassion for our community.”
