Construction is expected to start in January or February on a creativity incubator at La Cite Collegiale.
The overall approximately $29 million project budget includes Construction set to start on Place La Cite project $7.8 million from Canada’s Strategic Investment Fund, $11.2 million from Ontario and $5 million from La Cite Collegiale.
According to DataBid.com, the shortlist prequalification for general contractors is under-way. Original bids were due in August.
The new building will be available for community uses such as concerts, fashion shows and exhibits, says La Cite spokesperson Pascale Montminy.
A separate area, “La Factorie,” will be focused on technology as well as collaboration between students and small businesses, she told Ottawa Business Journal.
