The Ottawa Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) chapter has scheduled two events/speakers this spring.
Chris Maskell, chief executive officer of the National Flooring Contractors Association (NFCA), will address “Understanding and Presenting Floor Covering Failure” at a March 21 breakfast presentation.
He says there are many issues with floor covering installations that can quickly lead to “conflict on site, delays and expensive mistakes.”
The solution – planning ahead to ensure acceptable site conditions.
He will discuss common floor covering installation issues, sub-floor flatness, concrete dry times, moisture issues and testing requirements, and will describe NCFA installation standards and specification resources.
Registration for the program at the Ottawa Conference and Events Centre, 200 Coventry Road, is $35.00, or $25.00 if you register before March 11. Students can attend for $15.00.

A second event, the annual Connections Cafe at Algonquin College on May 8, features Megan Beange, the National BIM Lead at PSPC-Real Property Services. She will discuss the “Integration of Digitization in the Construction Industry” and explore the challenges of bringing a collaborative approach to the new digital economy.
Tickets will soon be available on Eventbrite, with further information at the CSC Ottawa chapter website.
