On March 31, AGF-Raymond Rebar Inc. hosted a customer appreciation event at K&S on the Keys that was part thank you, part motivational, and part educational. Part of the company’s new Customer Appreciation program, the event was the first of several to be scheduled during 2016.
AGF-Raymond general manager Christian Witt said between 30 and 50 attendees had been expected from more than 25 invited companies. The evening was intended to “thank our valuable customers for their loyalty, their support and to celebrate a great year of prestigious projects in our region.”
Among the projects AGF-Ramond has been active in this past year include the OLRT (Ottawa Light Rail Transit) tunnel, underground and above ground stations, the Chaudiere Hydro Dam, Parliament Hill’s Visitor’s Centre, Les Terrasses Francesca, Le District, and 405 Terminal Ave.
The event included a somewhat traditional thank you reception with beverages and hors d’oeuvres, but also components aimed at personal and professional education.
“We invited two industry speakers from Fiberline and V-Rod – both manufacturers of GFRP (Glassfibre Reinforced Polymer) bars,” said Witt. “This technology has been in the market for a while now, but it has been recently that is started to be used more and more by MTO and other jurisdictions. It was an educational combined presentation that offered interesting information on the different products and the main use of this technology.”
In addition, international professional speaker and trainer Bob Urichuck, author of Disciplined for Life, was also on hand to speak to attendees. “Bob has been recognized many times worldwide for his different approach how to attract, engage and empower buyers to buy. His book is a real eye opener to understand that discipline is a commitment to the most important person in the world: ourselves. It means doing what you have to do, even when you do not want to do it.”
Witt says both presentations benefitted all participants both technically and personally. He added that AGF-Raymond looks forward to presenting more such opportunities to clients during the coming year.
