Employees from EllisDon offices across Canada came together this spring to participate in Steps for Life, raising more than $24,000 for Threads of Life, a national organization that supports families affected by workplace tragedies.
Steps for Life events were held in several cities including Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Mississauga, London, Thunder Bay, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. The annual walk raises awareness about workplace safety while offering support to families coping with the aftermath of workplace fatalities, serious injuries, or occupational illnesses.
“Steps for Life is about standing with those who are facing the unimaginable,” said Brenna Pulford, HSE Coordinator and the London Team Captain. “It provides a crucial lifeline for families navigating the grief and loss of a loved one.”
Though this year’s events have concluded, donations to Threads of Life can still be made. The organization continues to play a vital role in helping families rebuild their lives after devastating workplace incidents.
