Nancy Schepers, deputy city manager, planning and infrastructure, has provided an update on the Waller Roadway collapse and has outlined the Rideau Transit Group’s (RTG) proposed approach to resume tunnelling work at the east portal.
Schepersprovided with RTG’s technical memo summarizing the results of their root cause investigation and their proposed next steps to resume tunnelling from the east portal location.
The memo included a series of cross section images detailing the conditions at the site and their proposed next steps.
According to the memo, city staff and technical experts have reviewed RTG’s proposal and are satisfied with the proposed approach and have given RTG authorization to resume work at the East Portal as described in the technical memo.
