Hyatt Hotels said that its affiliate recently entered into a management contract with Claridge Homes for the Canada’s first Andaz hotel in Ottawa.
The company selected Byward Market for its hotel, which is expected to be opened in mid-2016.
Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will be the first Andaz-branded hotel in Canada as well as the city’s first hotel under Hyatt’s brand portfolio.
The 200-room Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will be located at 325 Dalhousie St. The neighborhood is surrounded by more than two dozen embassies and consulates and is located immediately east of Ottawa’s commercial office core, a short walk from Parliament Hill, and just north of the University of Ottawa campus.
The hotel will also include a destination restaurant and a rooftop bar and lounge including an outdoor terrace offering panoramic views of the city.
