On August 20, Amazon started the construction on a new distribution facility in Ottawa, according to Global News.
The project developer is Broccolini, which is building the 1-million-sq.-ft. facility at the site on Boundary Rd. adjacent to Highway 417. The facility will be large enough to house 60 hockey fields, according to Broccolini.
The new facility will be used to distribute larger items such as furniture and sporting equipment. The project will create more than 1,500 new construction jobs and 600 distribution jobs.
