The Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) has agreed to rename Lansdowne Park.
OSEG on Jan. 7 said that it has signed an agreement with TD Bank Group. Under the terms of the agreement, TD Bank will serve as the official naming rights sponsor of the sporting/concert areas, including stadium and arena.
The sports complex – which will be home of the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa Fury FC and the Ottawa 67’s – will be named TD Place, according to a news release.
In addition to acquiring naming rights, TD Bank will open a new state-of-the-art retail branch and install ATMs. The branch will be built to LEED standards to support of reducing its environmental footprint.
Construction of the new Lansdowne Park began in October 2012 after Ottawa City Council approved a comprehensive partnership between OSEG and the City of Ottawa.
TD Place will have a combined arena/stadium seating capacity of 34,000 and will be Ottawa’s largest sports and entertainment venue.
