Construction of OakWood Renovation Expert’s new headquarters on Taylor Creek Dr. near Trim Rd. in Orleans is setting some new precedents, including progress to achieve LEED Platinum status. (Only 31 projects in Canada have achieved this level, and only two of them have been in Ottawa.)

Ottawa Construction News will publish an extensive report on the project in the July issue, where virtually every building feature challenges and exceeds conventional building practices with new construction materials and technologies.

The 22,000 sq. ft. project, designed by Barry J. Hobin & Associates Architects, will demonstrate the company’s sustainable capacities and help launch its new commercial construction division, says OakWood president and CEO John Liptak. OakWood already has leadership status within the residential renovation market.

The new building will be supported by the contractor’s four other locations and consolidate head office operations and human resources.  Beyond that, customers will have access to a state-of-the-art design and material studio featuring design concepts and ideas from around the world.
