Ottawa-based Minto Communities and OakWood Renovation Experts were recognized with Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) Awards of Distinction at the association’s annual conference in Ottawa in late September.
An OHBA news release said Minto Communities “excels in its commitment to energy efficient, high-quality craftsmanship in its new home construction and creative approaches to sales and marketing.”
“With close to 60 years of experience in the home building industry, Minto Communities has built their reputation on their promise to not just build homes but to create functional neighbourhoods where people can work, live and play. Minto’s commitment to build environmentally-friendly communities has placed the firm at the top-tier of the industry in Ontario.”
In a new category this year, OHBA presented OakWood Renovation Experts with the 2014 OHBA Ontario Renovator of the Year Award. “Based in Ottawa, Oakwood has built an enviable reputation as a leading renovation firm during their 58-year commitment to high-quality customer service and giving back to the community,” the OHBA announcement said. “Oakwood staff and renovators adhere to a strict code of ethics, continually embrace new technologies and building practices and incorporate ‘Green’ practices to minimize pollution and waste to reduce the environmental impact of their construction projects.
Both Ontario Builder and Renovator of the Year Awards are presented to the companies that demonstrates the highest levels of performance, creativity and ingenuity based on judging criteria in the areas of sales and marketing excellence, floor plan design, community service, support of the industry and its ability to adapt to changing needs, the news release said.
There are 39 categories in the 2014 OHBA Awards of Distinction program honouring innovation and excellence in the areas of design and sales and marketing.
Among these awards, Lagois Design-Build-Renovate received recognition for the most outstanding home renovation (retail value between $250,001 and $500,000) for the Next Level Bungalow in Ottawa.
