Hydro One plans to build a permanent operations centre in Orléans.
The Orléans operations centre will serve 39,000 customers in the Orléans, Navan, Rockland and the surrounding area. It will be built at 3450 Frank Kenny Road, the company said in a statement.
In addition, Hydro One will invest $33.4 million to build a new transmission station to meet the growing demand for electricity in Orléans and Rockland.
The new station will increase capacity in the area and is expected to be in service at the end of 2014.
Hydro One is wholly-owned by the Province of Ontario.
