Byward Market’s Mercury Court sold to private investor for $22 million

Primecorp Commercial Realty Inc., acting as advisor, has announced the successful purchase by a private investor of Mercury Court, a 51,459 sq. ft., three-storey office building with ground floor retail in the Byward Market. The property reportedly sold for $22 million.

The property is anchored with prominent retail tenants including Lone Star, Second Cup, Chez Cora and Gabriel Pizza.

“Seldom do properties such as this trade in any Canadian market; the opportunity to acquire such an asset is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Primecorp CEO Aik Aliferis said in a news release. “Typically private investors will keep this type of Property in the family for generations. The location in the iconic Byward Market makes this strategic and trophy acquisition a long term play for the buyer. With the addition of this asset he has added an exceptional and significant property to his growing portfolio.”
