The chief executive officers for three of central Ottawa’s most significant current and future development projects will provide their perspectives of the projects and the city’s future at the Construction Specification Canada (CSC) Ottawa chapter Connections Cafe on Feb. 19.
Speakers/panelists include:
- Brad Lamb, president and CEO of Lamb Development Corp., who has purchased the current OCA headquarters at 196 Bronson;
- Bernie Ashe, chief executive officer of the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment group, co-ordinating the Lansdowne Park revitalization; and
- Jonathan Westeinde, managing partner of Windmill Developments, which is preparing to develop the former Domtar lands on the Chaudière Islands.
“This event will provide an excellent networking opportunity for contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and others interested in current and future business opportunities,” said CSC Ottawa chapter chair Mark Buckshon, whose business publishes Ottawa Construction News. “The city is truly changing, with intensive, multi-function developments reshaping the urban core.”
The event from 5:30 pm. to 9:00 p.m. at Algonquin College will bring the movers and shakers within the city’s architectural, engineering, construction and development community in one room. “This is truly one of the best networking events of the year,” Buckshon said. “The CSC chapter, with its interdisciplinary perspective, provides a great opportunity for specialists to come together and understand the larger picture.”
A special pre-event at 4:30 has been co-ordinated to provide information about CSC courses and programs that can ultimately lead to certification as a Registered Specifications Writer. “This program will be especially relevant to Algonquin College students and others interested in enhancing their career.” There is no charge to attend the CSC career event and student participants will be eligible for reduced fees for the full evening/dinner program.
Tickets for the evening event are $60.00 individually or $110 ($55.00 each) for a pair, plus HST. Table purchases and sponsorships are also available, allowing you additional opportunities to communicate, market and promote your business or professional service.
